The Scottish Fashion Creative Network is a member led network established to support and promote individuals and organisations working within the Scottish fashion sector. Driven by a membership of fashion emerging industry professionals, we provide a platform to promote and support local fashion talent.
Established due to a lack of industry support or representation by government agencies and charities for individuals in Scotland; The SFCN provides essential support through the funding of work opportunities for industry professionals and the building of links and partnerships to create working relationships on collaborative projects.
The SFCN offers a range of opportunities from educational work shops, panel talks and local events. We plan to bring our 2016 programme across Scotland. With collaborations in Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow exhibiting work from students and working creatives. Our work shops and panel talks are on going, keep an eye out on our instagram, twitter and facebook for upcoming free educational events!
We offer support through funding and business advice services. The SFCN £250 bi-annual grant is open to members taking on a project to grow their business or further education. Funded by corporate sponsors these grants help grow collaboration within Scotland. Opening up potential mentor relationships or job opportunities for emerging creatives and showcasing new talent to established organisations. Weekly business and finance drop in surgery currently based at Biscuit Factory in Edinburgh every Wednesday, offers business and finance advice to our members encouraging forward business planning and career choices.
