Mischke Lingerie tells us how she used her SFCN £250 Creative Project Grant for her SS/16 Collection

What is the SFCN Grant?

We offer £250 creative project grants bi-annually to our membership to be used to increase business growth, creativity and further education within their field. The grant is fundraised through corporate membership of established organisations working in Scotland. This creates strong links between emerging creatives and industry professionals working in the fashion sector.

Owner and designer of Mischke Lingerie, Hazel Lethaby, applied for our grant to fund a trip to source and buy locally-made textiles for her SS/16 line. She travelled to MYB Textiles in Ayrshire to test out new fabrics. Using lace, silk and chiffon made in Scotland, Hazel wanted to test various colour runs and durability of the fabrics.

“The grant process has been great for me. I’ve found that I could tailor it to what I needed and get the most out of it rather than having to adhere to certain criteria. The meetings with Kevin Harding and Blair Davidson were really beneficial, both giving lots of advice not just pertaining to my grant” – Hazel Lethaby, Owner and Designer talking about the SFCN grant

Mischke Lingerie ‘Mischke Unique’ SS16 range successfully launched in February 2016 with beautiful images from a working creative team based in Scotland. The range is available on ETSY and in store at Wear Eponymous, the Scottish Design ExchangeLillies and Dreams and Pretty Women all in Edinburgh.
